on hipsters and lo-fi…
if you don’t know, i’m a neo-traditionalist when it comes to my photography. what i mean is that i love the old traditions of the medium, and have dedicated myself to introducing the next generation of photographers to them. the problem is that most of the old tech is highly poisonous and extremely dangerous.
over the last ten years i’ve ‘re-invented’ several of the preocesses with modern materials that i can safely use in a high school classroom. you’ll see that look reflected in my work at all levels. recently i added the hipstamatic iphone app to my arsenal. the iphone is becoming my camera of choice. the hipstamatic gives me a genuine camera interface to work with and results that make me giddy with exuberance. check out the i:foto blog for more…

we’re entering that inevitable period where we have become the caretakers of our parents- it is occasionally frustrating but i have come to cherish the time with paula’s mom and dad- we spend most of our time together laughing…
